I hadn’t been there in awhile, and I needed caffeine. I got a mexican mocha and that beauty you see on the left, a banana muffin with buttercream frosting. I saw it on their facebook, and thought about trying it, but never actually felt the need to until I saw it. I don’t usually like sweets, but for this I made an exception. Ohhhh, it was so good. The buttercream was perfect, and the cupcake wasn’t too dry. I made braised pork shoulder tonight, another recipe I got from amateurgourmet.com, and it was by far the best pork I have ever had. So good in fact that I am currently curled into the fetal position on my couch. Better than sex. I made some fingerling potatoes to go with that were also delicious. This week has been very strange, what with school starting, my work schedule changing, and being broke as hell. Anyways, its been fun. Wednesday night I attended a going away party for my friend Justin J. Baker at the Gentlemen’s Club (no, its not a strip club). I had heard a lot about The Gentlemen’ Club, but I had never experienced it for myself. It is awesome. Three poker tables, three TVs, a pool table, wet bar, refrigerator, and wine cooler. Its not open to the public, which makes it even better, and the guy who runs it is a chef, and has great taste in beer, hence the picture of the Hinterland Door County Cherry Wheat tap.
